Click on this, then select\u00a0<em>Profile.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<em>User Details<\/em> click\u00a0<em>Edit profile<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Customise your settings:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>User Picture<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0Adding a photo of yourself to your profile is a good way for you and your students to get to know each other, as well as other tutors. Click on <em>User Picture<\/em> to open the panel and drag &amp; drop your photo from your computer onto the drop zone indicated by the arrow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Email display<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0If you do not want students to know your email address, the option <em>Hide my email address from non-privileged users<\/em> hides your address from students, but teaching staff and staff with editing access will be able to see your email address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Interests and Optional<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0You may like to add other details (interests, phone numbers etc) to make it easier for students\/staff to contact you, or to share what your passions are.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Update profile.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Forum preferences<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to Moodle.<\/li>\n<li>In the top right corner of the screen you should see your initials or profile picture in a circle. Click on this, then select\u00a0<em>Preferences.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Forum preferences.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Customise your settings:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reduce Forum emails\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0Review the settings in the <em>Email digest type<\/em>: this setting alters how many emails you receive each day from each forum you&#8217;re subscribed to. <em>No Digest<\/em>\u00a0means every time anyone posts you&#8217;ll get an email. <em>Complete<\/em>\u00a0means you&#8217;ll get one email a day from each forum and that email will have the whole of the post included. <em>Subjects<\/em>\u00a0means you&#8217;ll get one email a day from each forum and it will contain only the subject of the posts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forum tracking\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0Forum tracking: the option <em>Yes: highlight new posts for me<\/em>\u00a0should improve your forum navigation by highlighting to you just the posts that you haven&#8217;t as yet read.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Save changes.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Related Pages<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/general-information\/getting-started\/\">Getting Started<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary Every user in Moodle has a profile page &#8211; this page can tell you what courses they&#8217;re in, their interests and how to contact them.
