Creating a Video Assignment<\/h2>\n
Create the assignment submission area as you usually would – instructions linked at the bottom of this page in the\u00a0Related Pages<\/em> area. The only changes to make are:<\/p>\n

- Submission Types\u00a0<\/strong>– just select Online text<\/em><\/li>\n
- Feedback Types<\/strong> – turn off\u00a0Annotate PDF<\/em>, keep Feedback comments<\/em> and\u00a0select the others as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Another addition to this assignment would be some instructions for students so they know how to submit their videos.<\/p>\n
Instructions for Student Submissions<\/h2>\n

- Log in to Moodle.<\/li>\n
- Navigate to your course\/module.<\/li>\n
- Find your assignment and open it up.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Add submission<\/em> at the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n
- In the\u00a0Online text\u00a0<\/em>box you will see a blue circle icon with green triangle inside (Echo360 logo) – click this icon.

A. If you don’t see this icon click your name in the top right hand corner of Moodle.
\nB. Click\u00a0Preferences<\/em> from the drop down menu.
\nC. Click\u00a0Editor Preferences.<\/em>
\nD. Select\u00a0Default editor\u00a0<\/em>and click\u00a0Save changes.<\/em>
\nE. Go back to step 2.<\/li>\n- You’ll see an\u00a0Embed Media<\/em> box pop up – from here you should Upload Content <\/strong>from your computer, or DropBox GoogleDrive or OneDrive which ends up in your Echo360 Library, this can take a while, so after you get a notification to say you have been successful you can then Choose existing Content <\/strong>from this Echo360 Library.\n

<\/li>\n- Follow the on screen instructions and finally click\u00a0Insert<\/em> next to the video you wish to add to your assignment (this will share the video with your instructor)<\/li>\n
- This will now add a link to the\u00a0Online text<\/em> box in Moodle – which will be how your video is viewed and graded.<\/li>\n
- Click\u00a0Save changes<\/em> once you’re finished – you will see the status of your submission on the next screen.\u00a0Note: Processing the video in Echo360 can take some time. If you grow impatient you can check that something is happening at Echo360.net.au<\/a> (use your university email and password).<\/strong><\/li>\n
- A good idea is to use software called handbrake (https:\/\/handbrake.fr<\/a>) to downsize your videos so they take less time to upload.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

- Video files can be very large- make sure you upload the files using a laptop\/computer with good internet connection.<\/li>\n
- If your file upload was successful but the submission was not, you don’t need to upload the file again. Follow the Steps 1-5, and you should be able to see your video files in Echo360 plugin. Choose the file and click ‘insert’ to embed the file, then complete the submission process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
