{"id":798,"date":"2020-03-20T14:13:47","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T01:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/?page_id=798"},"modified":"2023-01-11T11:42:37","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T22:42:37","slug":"universal-capture-personal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/building-your-course\/lecture-recording\/universal-capture-personal\/","title":{"rendered":"Universal Capture: Personal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Summary<\/h2>\n<p>Echo360 Universal Capture Personal (UCP) can help you create teaching resources from your computer that can be disseminated via Echo360 to your students\/audience.<\/p>\n<p>UCP allows you to combine audio and up to two other displays including camera and computer screen (i.e PowerPoint Presentation or other application) \u2013 the minimum requirement is audio.<\/p>\n<p>Things to think about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep recordings short \u2013 ideally under 10 minutes to keep the size down for audience members on poorer internet connections<\/li>\n<li>Plan your recording before you start \u2013 have you got all the resources together? Do you know what you want to say and how to say it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10px;letter-spacing: 0.1em\">Resources<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a UCP<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to echo360.net.au and log in with your University of Otago email address \u2013 if this step fails please contact <a href=\"mailto:med.moodle@otago.ac.nz\">med.moodle@otago.ac.nz<\/a> to discuss sorting your access out.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Staff Login <\/em>and sign in with your University of Otago username and password.<\/li>\n<li>Click the cog in the top right hand corner and select <em>Downloads<\/em> from the menu.<br \/>\n<a version of Universal Capture: Personal to download.<\/li>\n<li>Install Universal Capture: Personal on your computer (if the install doesn\u2019t start immediately the file is probably in your Downloads folder \u2013 just click it to open).<\/li>\n<li>Once installed open Echo360 Capture.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019ll be shown a screen asking you to log in \u2013 click the icon to log in (this will opened \u2013 and some choices available for what to record. The middle is your microphone, to either side you can select your input from the drop down \u2013 usually webcam and your screen.
