It is also useful for keeping track of grading progress and co-ordinating multiple markers.<\/p>\n<p>If you are using Marking Workflow to control the visibility of student marks, at some point you will need to release marks to students so they can view them in the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/assessing-students\/grade-book\/\">Gradebook<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Note that this is not the only way of controlling grade visibility for\u00a0<em>Assignments.<\/em> You may be using multiple methods. See\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/assessing-students\/grade-visibility\/\">Grade Visibility<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Resources<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.moodle.org\/402\/en\/Assignment_settings#Grade\">Marking Workflow<\/a>\u00a0(Moodle Docs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<p>Although it is possible to individually release grades on a user-by-user basis, we recommend releasing marks in bulk when any moderation processes are completed. To do this, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the assignment and click\u00a0<em>View all submissions.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Filter the appropriate student group under\u00a0<i>Visible groups.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1266\" src=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/09\/Screen-Shot-2023-09-19-at-1.47.37-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"174\" \/><\/i><\/li>\n<li>When using &#8220;select all&#8221;, Moodle will only select the assignments that are currently visible on the page. To get around this, scroll to the bottom and set\u00a0<em>Assignments per page<\/em> to\u00a0<em>All.\u00a0<\/em>Make sure that both filters are set to\u00a0<em>No filter.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1267\" src=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/09\/Screen-Shot-2023-09-19-at-1.50.57-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"318\" height=\"130\" \/><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Scroll back to the top. You can select all students in the group with the topmost checkbox.\u00a0Check the status of each student&#8217;s submission. In most cases, if marking has been completed the status should show &#8220;Marking Completed&#8221; or &#8220;Ready to Release&#8221;.
