To begin make sure the external graders are given the role of\u00a0<em>Guest user<\/em> in your course &#8211; you may need to contact your eLearning Facilitator to get this done.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to Moodle and navigate to your course.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure editing is turned on\u00a0<em>(Edit mode<\/em> &#8211; top right hand corner).<\/li>\n<li>Locate the assessment you want your external grader\/s to have access to and click the \u22ee icon (to the far right of the assessment name) and select <em>Assign roles<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <em>Teaching <\/em><em>Staff<\/em> role.<\/li>\n<li>Find your external grader in the\u00a0<em>Potential users<\/em> list and add them to the\u00a0<em>Existing users<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Back to the list of all roles<\/em> at the bottom of the page when you&#8217;re finished.<\/li>\n<li>You should now see your external grader&#8217;s name in the\u00a0<em>Users with role<\/em> column for <em>Teaching <\/em><em>Staff.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If this method doesn&#8217;t fit your needs, contact your eLearning Facilitator to discuss.<\/p>\n<h3>Related Pages<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/assessing-students\/assignments\/grading-an-assignment\/\">Grading an Assignment<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary There are times when it is necessary to have external graders in your course whilst having their access to content limited to only the assessment they&#8217;re required to grade.
