The centrally supported system at the University of Otago is known as Otago Capture and utilises the Echo360 platform. \u00a0You can also use Otago Capture to disseminate your Zoom meeting recordings to your class. Otago Capture can be hooked up to Moodle so students can have access to the recordings.<\/p>\n<h3>Resources<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Otago Capture helpsite<\/a> (help.otago.ac.nz)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/record\/recording-options\/personal-capture\/\">Universal Capture help<\/a>\u00a0(help.otago.ac.nz)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/corpapp.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Otago Capture Administration Application<\/a> (corpapps.otago.ac.nz)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/otagocaptureadminapp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Otago Capture Administration Application help<\/a> (help.otago.ac.nz)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/zoom-recordings-on-capture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom recordings in Otago Capture<\/a> (help.otago.ac.nz)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to add Otago Capture (Echo360) to your course<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure you have followed all the steps in Otago Capture Administration to set up your recording section <a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/otagocaptureadminapp\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(following this guide)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In Moodle navigate to the course you want to add the recordings to and where you want the link to appear (usually this is at the top of the page).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0<em>Edit mode<\/em> is on (toggle switch at top right of window).<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Add an activity or resource<\/em>\u00a0and select\u00a0<em>Echo 360 Cloud<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Fill in the name such as &#8220;Echo360 Recordings&#8221;. You can leave the rest of the settings as is, though best if you ensure the &#8220;Launch Container&#8221; is set to &#8220;New Window&#8221;..<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<em>Save and Display<\/em>\u00a0to set up the connection on the Echo360 Capture end.<\/li>\n<li>Now you can go back in (by clicking the link you made in the steps above) and Choose the Section (from your list which you had set up).\u00a0Select either <em>Section home<\/em> (which will show the student all the recordings), or <em>A lesson<\/em> which is a link to a single recording.\u00a0Click <em>Connect<\/em>, and you are finished.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1013\" src=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2023-01-11-at-1.09.48-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"627\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2023-01-11-at-1.09.48-PM-1.jpeg 919w, https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2023-01-11-at-1.09.48-PM-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2023-01-11-at-1.09.48-PM-1-768x577.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/moodle\/files\/2023\/01\/Screen-Shot-2023-01-11-at-1.09.48-PM-1-400x300.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to add a new recording<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Follow the instructions on how to <a href=\"https:\/\/help.otago.ac.nz\/capture\/record\/recording-options\/upload_media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">import media.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Note 1: You can add recordings from your &#8216;Library&#8217; which is material you have uploaded to Echo360 previously, or from other Echo360 sections in which you are an instructor.<\/li>\n<li>Note 2: You can use Universal Capture on your own computer to create recordings that you then publish to your Echo360 section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Terminology in Echo360<\/h2>\n<dl>\n<dt>Section<\/dt>\n<dd>Equivalent to a Moodle course. Needs to be setup before you can link recordings in Moodle. As of 2023,\u00a0<strong>Sections\u00a0<\/strong>are now known as\u00a0<strong>Courses<\/strong> within Echo360.<\/dd>\n<dt>Paper<\/dt>\n<dd>Uses paper code in eVision, will allow recording of centrally timetabled lectures. Used when you setup link between Echo and Moodle.<\/dd>\n<dt>Event<\/dt>\n<dd>Uses shortName in Moodle, will allow uploading of zoom sessions or other movies.
