Tips and Tricks

Turn on the Microphone

Even if you’re scheduling your recordings make sure to turn your microphone on. If the microphone isn’t turned on Capture won’t record any sound.

Rename your Echoes

When your recordings are scheduled they get named automatically. This name is based on the name of the Section. And all of your recordings will get the same name, the only difference will be the date recorded. A good idea is to rename your Echoes and give them a description, you may even want to change the presenter. You can find instructions on how to do this under Editing Echoes

Do your Editing Early

You can only edit Echoes up to 28 days after they have been recorded. Once those 28 days are up you can’t make any changes.

Viewing Echoes

When a student or a lecturer is viewing an echo they can use the shortcut keys to improve your experience:

  • Volume – can be adjusted using the U key for up and the D key for down.
  • Full Screen – You can make the Echo Fullscreen by pressing the F key.
  • Play/Pause – Pause or play the Echo with the P key.

Searching during playback

When an Echo is playing the viewer can actually search through the Echo to find what they want. The Search box on the right hand side of the EchoPlayer will search through the slides that have been recorded and give the viewer some options to go to.
