Otago Capture is a cloud based system. If you are recording anything that could be considered sensitive or confidential then you should not record that with Capture. The privacy settings for Otago Capture are essentially all or nothing, either all of your class has access to the recordings or none of them do.

Options to limit the recording to specific persons or to remove sections from the recordings:

  • Pause the recording until after the you have concluded presenting the information you do not wish to include in the recording, then resume recording.
  • Do not Live Stream.
  • Record the lecture, make it unavailable to students and edit out unwanted parts of the recording within Otago Capture.
  • Record the lecture, make it unavailable to students, and download the media file. This file can then be put onto a podcasting website, which can be restricted to specific users only.
  • Record the lecture, make it unavailable to students. Within your Library find the copy of the file, and share to a specific email address.
